Boys Hockey

Bekker boys made Bekker history in being the first 1st team to win the league and continue to the Noordvaal league.

The 1st team also ended in 3rd/4th place during the PUK Super 16 hockey friendly held at Potchefstroom, losing to Oosterland High School in the semi-finals.

The Gauteng West D2 small schools boys hockey league, made up of 13 local schools from the areas of Magaliesburg, Randfontein, Carletonville and Krugersdorp (amongst other schools of Jan Viljoen High, Riebeeckrand High, Carltonville, Carlton Jones, Randfontein High) came to an end during May 2017.  Bekker High School was crowned as league winners of both the 1st team as well as the u/16 team leagues, when both the 1st team and the u/16 team beat Randfontein High School in action packed final games both played on Astro.

The boys were also part of the Prestige Hockey series played at Noordheuwel Astro field during August 2017.  The schools which participated were KHS, Noordheuwel, Maragon, Monnas, Bastion and Bekker. This series is a friendly series and is for the development of the potential 1st team players for 2018.  Bekker ended 5th in the series, having beaten Bastion High.

We are very proud of our boys who played excellent hockey and had a very rewarding 2017 season.
